We’d like to know more concretely the number of RailsBridge students who come back for another workshop, become volunteers, and end up in better professional situations in part due to their attendance at a workshop (or many). We have anecdotal evidence of RailsBridge workshop participants becoming professional developers, but there’s a lot more to learn about our efforts.
We have a few opportunities:
- Heroku is willing to give us appropriately anonymized data about people who come to workshops and then keep doing stuff. We just need to write something down and maybe make this part of BridgeTroll. In the meantime, we have collected this data for at least two workshops.
- Sarah Allen knows a Research Social Scientist at SRI International -- they would write a grant for us and do a multi-year study
- West Ed does studies like this too
